HOT: Scanlan & Theodore Clearance Store, L3 Melbourne Central, Melb

Scanlan & Theodore is a clothing brand which I regularly covet but have never purchased, as frankly I think the clothes are inordinately expensive for what you get.

Enter the Scanlan & Theodore Clearance Store in the revamped fashion hub of Melbourne Central. As you’d expect, the fit out is the bare minimum, with signage printed on A4 sheets of paper and undecorated walls. Surprisingly the stock’s not all wacky sizes and ugly prints, and in amongst the racks I found some bargains – a pair of elegant red suede stiletto strappy pumps by London shoe designer Georgina Goodman ($700 reduced to $156) and a knee length classic pleated skirt, a present for my mum’s birthday (so I can’t tell you how much).
