Melba Mannequins is the twinning of my two loves – fashion and food.

The name of the event comes from experiencing lunch at the Melba Restaurant at The Langham while beautiful models parade fashion around the restaurant.

Thanks to The Langham, I attend the first sold out Melba Mannequins event which featured the Autumn/Winter collection from Anthea Crawford. It was hosted by Gorgi Coghlan of Network Ten’s The Circle and included styling tips from stylist Franco Schifilliti.

They’ve just announced a second event on Wednesday 27 July to showcase the upcoming Spring/ Summer collection and as tickets sold out for the first event you’ll need to get in quick for this one. There will be a third event on Wednesday 21 September to coincide with Anthea Crawford‘s Spring Racing collection.

So that you know what you can look forward to, here are some drool-worthy pictures of the lunch. Note that it’s the usual lunch buffet provided by Melba Restaurant so even if you can’t make it to the Melba Mannequins event you can still sample the delectable food another time. A contender for the best buffet in Melbourne? I think so!

Sparkling seafood and freshly made sushi.

Melba Mannequins is the perfect afternoon out for your girlfriends – fashion, a flute of Moet & Chandon champagne, a huge and impressive buffet lunch, all with views of the city skyline. In addition, for every ticket sold $20 will go towards The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation and there were some fabulous raffle prizes at the lunch that I attended, including styling sessions, a stay at The Langham, a magnum of champagne and Anthea Crawford vouchers.

  1. Wow, those are some really great food pictures. I love the diversity of food from the sushi to the Indian food. Definitely adding this to my list of places to check out soon.

  2. This buffet looks amazing! My parents were always raving about the buffet at the Langham but I could never understand how a hotel buffet could be that good – now I know!
